About Me

Hello! My name is Heather Maclean-Smith, and I’m ecstatic that you found me!

I am one of those lucky people who was born to be a massage therapist. I discovered Reiki and energy work on my own as a young teenager. I started massage therapy school in 2012 and planned out how I could make the massage therapy program work for my specific needs. I have grown in massage therapy and continue to love the work to this day.

If you asked my family, they would say it wasn’t a surprise that I chose this as a career. I am a passionate, driven and self motivated RMT who thrives at work. I’m a huge massage nerd and I love my courses and self study guides. Outside of the treatment room you can find me spending time with my family, volunteering locally, being creative and spending time outside!

How it all began...

I started my training in 2012 at MacEwan University and was a graduate of their 2200 program in 2015. As a student, I was described as passionate and kind. I loved massage from the onset, I knew I would probably stick with it for a while. It was the perfect foundation for what would turn into a beautiful career.

I started at Lendrum Health Centre where I spent 5 years as their main, full-time RMT. In the Summer of 2020, Massage Therapy was shut down by COVID-19 for three months. It was an illuminating time for me and gave me the chance to re-imagine myself as a Massage Therapist and what I might want as I entered the last half of my first decade in practice.

I accepted a new contract at Therapeutic Body Concepts in the fall of 2020 where I worked with a team of other therapists. It was a great deal of fun to work with so many other therapeutic styles, and it was nice to be at a large clinic as Massage Therapy went through a number of Covid 19 related twists, turns, waves and shutdowns. It gave me time to brew something special in my heart and I knew in my heart that I couldn’t stay forever. I wanted to massage from home… In the Summer of 2021, my family and I moved to a house that was ideal for clients, as well as for my family and just like that, Point of Ease Therapy was conceived!

Point of Ease Therapy is conveniently located in the Duggan Community with easy access to the Whyte Mud Freeway and Calgary Trail. Enjoy your own entrance through the front door, ample street or driveway parking. No busy waiting room, no crowded parking lot.

The treatment room is spacious with your own ensuite washroom, outfitted with a high-end treatment table that can be adjusted for any position or need you may have.

I am trained in lots of different styles and techniques of massage therapy, from the very deep tissue to very light touch. My style is a mixture of all of it and as we get to know each other, we pick the parts you like the most. I think of massage therapy as being able to sing in more than one section of the choir.
